Well, I am the stranger really. I have been experiencing a hiatus from my card making over the last year. There are a number of reasons, some I would prefer not to share but generally, other factors took over and my crafting went on the back burner. As you probably know, stress plays havoc with the mojo and there were times I would stop, start, stop, then give up trying to make a card. I had even let my membership with the AFCI (Association For Creative Industries)- formally CHA lapse. So, I wasn’t going to Creativation this year. Until, Debbie Moore Designs sent out a link to those email registered with them.
Because of this link, I was able to attend Creativation 2019, with one week to sort myself out with a flight and a hotel. What can I say? Thank you to them for giving me the opportunity to be around such creative people again!
I made sure that I hugged a few familiar talented ladies and did a few Make n Takes. I immersed myself the best my confidence would allow. I tried to be in the moment and take in some creative inspiration.
So where do I go from here, I ask myself? Well, going and sitting around my lovely stamps and being in my craft room would be a start. Maybe this weekend thats what I should do!
Take care all, wish me luck!
Hi guys, this time last week I was leaving Creativation 2017 that was being held in Phoenix.
I had a wonderful time with no small thanks to Lesley Oman at Hungry Heffy Crafts. We hadn’t met before Creativation but Instagram worked it’s magic and, we arranged to meet up for a coffee. All I can say is, we had a blast! Instantly we clicked, and spent the next 36 hours doing all sorts of things. Generally, we would do our own thing while walking around the show. Outside of the show we shopped, (I) drank red wine, dined, danced and of course, laughed! I can honestly say I have met a new true buddy.
Lesley is all over social media and makes fabulous YouTube videos, go check her out.

I was a little star struck at the show because I met Gina K, Jennifer Maguire, Kristina Werner, Kelly-Marie Alvarez, Jenn Shurkus, Kathy Racoosin, Libby Hickson and Susan Opel. Name dropping or what?!
There were some amazing displays including Lawn. Fawn. It was fab to meet lovely friendly people from behind the scenes. I completed all three days of Make N Takes too. Other great stall set ups were Concord and 9th, Altenew, Stampers Anonymous, Sizzix, Prima, Memory Keepers, Tonic, and Spellbinders, just so many!
Let’s give a shout out to some newer stamp companies too. I had the pleasure of chatting to Honeybee Stamps, Sunny Studios and Waffle Flower. These stamp companies consist of some amazing talent. I really admire their drive and ambition to make their dreams come true.
Hi guys, I fly out on my Creativation trip tomorrow evening, yay!
Nervous and excited probably describes best how I feel. Given that there will be some famous names in the industry who will be attending, I may be a little awestruck too.
Creativation is the new name for the previously named CHA. This year, it is based in Phoenix at the convention centre. I know it has also been held in Anaheim too.
Anyone who is in to crafting of any kind, will have heard all about Creativation. I am sure it’s on most crafty peeps bucket lists to attend, it was on my bucket list for several years and now it’s a reality! Never lose sight of your plan, it will keep you driving in the right direction.
During my time there, I plan to take pictures, maybe even a video or two. I plan to download them to Instagram and Facebook as I go. Not sure if I will have time to blog, but I will certainly do a blog follow up on my return.
Remember to check my social media pages to join in the fun. If you see me there, do not hesitate to come over and say hi!
Well, I will sign off for now, Hugs, Cheryl 🙂
