Creativation 2019

Hi Strangers,

Well, I am the stranger really. I have been experiencing a hiatus from my card making over the last year. There are a number of reasons, some I would prefer not to share but generally, other factors took over and my crafting went on the back burner. As you probably know, stress plays havoc with the mojo and there were times I would stop, start, stop, then give up trying to make a card. I had even let my membership with the AFCI (Association For Creative Industries)- formally CHA lapse. So, I wasn’t going to Creativation this year. Until, Debbie Moore Designs sent out a link to those email registered with them.

Because of this link, I was able to attend Creativation 2019, with one week to sort myself out with a flight and a hotel. What can I say? Thank you to them for giving me the opportunity to be around such creative people again!

I made sure that I hugged a few familiar talented ladies and did a few Make n Takes. I immersed myself the best my confidence would allow. I tried to be in the moment and take in some creative inspiration.

So where do I go from here, I ask myself? Well, going and sitting around my lovely stamps and being in my craft room would be a start. Maybe this weekend thats what I should do!

Take care all, wish me luck!

Happy Birthday Kitties

Hi guys, I have a card to share with you today that I have called Happy Birthday Kitties.

To make this card I used two different Honey Bee stamp sets called Curious Kitties and Hooray. I have to say I love these little kittens and it was a pleasure creating with them on behalf of Honey Bee Stamps. The way the same cat has different poses is just adorable.

To achieve the green effect for the grounding of the images, I masked off the base then ink blended it using a dark and lighter green. This then gave me a platform on which to sit my little kitties. For the colouring, I used my Copic markers, which tends to be what I use primarily for colouring in images.

There are extra add-ons included in the set which help to create scenes. For this card, I added the fish bowl, fish and bubbles. Also, you may notice that I also added a wee bow which I coloured the same as the fish bowl. This brought all the colors together nicely.

To finish, I added the Happy and the Birthday from the Hooray stamp set to make this a ‘purrfect’ card for any cat lover!

Well, I will sign off for now and look forward to seeing you again next time at the Honey Bee blog!

Hugs, Cheryl ?

Special Delivery

It’s Cheryl here with a Special Delivery

I have the pleasure of writing my first ever post as a design team member for Honey Bee Stamps today, yay!

The card I am sharing with you showcases two new stamps sets that were released this week by Honey Bee. They are called Welcome Baby and Celebration Box.

to begin with, I  started off with some Neenah Solar White card stock. I then went to work stamping and masking the box so I could put the wee baby inside.

For the gender, I decided on a girl because I wanted to use pink and grey Copic markers as my main colors. In case you are interested, the colors used were C1, 3 & 5 for the box and RV 11 & 13 for the tissue paper.

For extra interest, I stamped some hearts on the box but decided to stop there as the card started to look a little ‘busy’.

By lightly ink blending a blue background it enabled the main image to pop. I matted this to some co-ordinating paper which pulled it all together. For the finishing touch, I added the Special Delivery sentiment which finished it off nicely.

I hope you like this fun card project? Why don’t you give it a try with your own choice of colors?

Well, I will sign off for now and look forward to seeing you again next time at the Honey Bee blog!

Hugs, Cheryl 🙂
