Color Throwdown Challenge 403

Hi guys, here’s a look at my entry for the Color Throwdown Challenge 403.

This week’s colours for the color throwdown were peach, yellow, light pink and white. I thought these were an interesting combination which immediately spoke softly to me. I know it may sound weird, but when I visioned those colors together, I thought of soft fluffy clouds and an uplifting sentiment.CTD 403 2

With that in mind, I pulled a stamp set out from my stash called Look for the Miracles by Simon Says Stamp.  I love the font in this set, and also it fitted with my thoughts around soft fluffy clouds etc. Also from Simon Says Stamp, I used their Stitched Circles and Stitched Rectangles dies. Linkcrafty tip: if you only want to purchase one set of nesting dies that has the stitched effect on both the negative and positive spaces, these are your dies. You should never need to purchase any other stitched dies!

CTD 403 3You may notice that the background pulls in all the colours noted. I did this by sponging the colours over the stencil by My Favourite Things called Cascading Scallop. I find stencils to be so useful for this kind of thing and,  a lot cheaper than those large full pages dies. Stencils rock in my opinion!

Of course I tapped into my paper stash by Lawn Fawn to compliment the colors. I could not resist adding a butterfly. Im not sure if its because its summer, but my focus over the last week as been butterflies. CTD 403 4

Anyway, I am looking forward to a long weekend away as we are going on a road trip to BC from tomorrow until Monday. The weather looks like it will be amazing! We decided to also take our two pooches Molly & Sasha, as we will be near Little Shuswap Lake and thought they would love it too!

I hope you have some relaxing time planned too this weekend, and I will see you again very soon. Don’t forget to leave your comments below, as I find them a joy to read.

Bye for now, Cheryl 🙂
