Hi guys, here’s my entry for this week Color Throwdown Challenge #407
The colours from this week’s inspirational photo are lime green, teal, and yellow. You can also use neutrals, so I used black as I thought it complimented the three colors perfectly.
For some reason my mojo wouldn’t turn on at first and I kept hitting a blank trying to come with an idea. However, this didn’t last long and I decided to do something completely different with a background stamp. I decided to use a background stamp as my main focal point for the card. I decided to color parts of the stamp with Copic markers in a coordinated fashion. I think the background stamp had a kind of psychedelic look and with these colors the card could turn out quite retro. In case you are curious the maker colors used are Y13, Y18, YG05, YG09 & BG18. To finish off the card I added some dots with my Tuxedo Black Pico Embellisher.
Hope you like my effort for this week. Its not too late to enter this weeks challenge just go to the Color Throwdown Challenge Blogspot.
Have agreed week folks….long weekend next weekend, yay!
Hi guys, Im back today to show you my entry for this week’s Color Throwdown Challenge 406.
This weeks colors are orange, green, pale pink and white and reminded me of Halloween and a fall wedding. As I do not make Halloween cards, I opted for a fall vintage chic wedding theme.
I decided to use a stamp set from a new company that I haven’t purchased from before called Concord & 9th. They are quite a new company that seem to be growing in the industry. When I see this growth, it gives me the impression that the photopolymer that they use for their stamps must be good quality. There is nothing more frustrating that not getting clean crisp image when stamping!
The cake image in the set is incredible. I think the image is quite unique as I haven’t seen anything like it before. For your reference, the stamp set is called Happy Day.
This stamp set contains many sentiments for weddings and birthdays, and also includes various words and numbers. This is helpful for me as I build up a crd with someone specific in mind. As I love ink blending, I decided to white emboss the cake and ink blend the colors over the image. You will see that I tried to concentrated the orange on the flowers and the background, then worked around this with the green on the foliage and pink on the cake.
Keep an eye out for the weekly Color Throwdown Challenges.
Well, thats me for today. I will have another post coming out later this week so keep and eye out.
Bye for now, Cheryl 🙂
Hi Guys, welcome to the Color Throwdown Challenge 405!
I was a very lucky girl last week because I was chosen to be this weeks Guest Star Stamper :). You can see my design along with the designs the regular CTD team came up with here.
To give me time to create, I was given the color hues last week. Interestingly, I had already made a card that I absolutely loved already and no one had seen it. Straightaway, I just felt the design would look adorable with the colors given to me by the CTD team. So I made another one!
The stamps used for my Guest Star Stamper creation were Snuggle Bunnies and Rainbow Greetings. To make the rainbow, I die cut the three colors with MFTS’s Stitched Rainbow die. You may notice the sunshine in the background. To achieve that, I used the MFT Sun Ray Stencil.
My Favorite Things come out with some amazing products and their customer service is superb also, I think the stitched rainbow die is half price on MFT’s website today. I sometimes buy direct from MFT or from the fabulous Simon Says Stamp. Between both online stores, I am able to get hold of most products when they are released (if I move quickly)….
I hope you enjoy my entry and I hope it inspires you to enter the Color Throwdown Challenge too as it’s kinda of fun being given the colors to work around. Keep and eye out in social media for my other Rainbow Bunny later this week.
Wishing you a great hump Wednesday!
Cheers, Cheryl 🙂
Hi guys, Im back again to show you my entry for this week’s Color Throwdown Challenge 404.
Before I go any further, I wanted to share how thrilled I was to be chosen as the Featured Stamper for my entry last week….miracles do happen 😉 ………You can see my entry here. For being chosen, I received a badge for my blog and I have also been invited as a Guest Star Stamper for the Color Throwdown Challenge on August 10th. Needless to say, I am tickled pink! 🙂
Anyway, back to this week’s challenge. The colors that were given are kraft, aqua and white. Oh I just love aqua and kraft, can’t you tell by my website???
The stamp set used is the wonderful Scribble Roses Stamp Set by My Favorite Things as well as the matching die set. This set has been used so many times because I love the dimension of the dies over colors. The sentiment is from another well used stamp set by MFT called On The Line. Sorry, but I couldn’t see it at Simon Says Stamp so it must be an older set. It was helpful to use my MISTI for the rose colors. It help me accurately stamp the rose images three times to achieve a more solid color. I love it when the colors just pop! I finished the roses off with a wee diamante for a bit of glam, as I was in that kinda mood 🙂
The card did take me a while to make, but I like how it turned out, simple and elegant. I hope you like it and don’t hesitate to leave a comment to let me know.
Keep an eye out for next week’s challenge at the Color Throwdown Challenge Blogspot, as another card that I have created will be up.
Bye for now
Hugs, Cheryl 🙂
