Hi guys, Happy New Year to you and your families.
Over the festive period a wonderful friend of mine had a beautiful baby boy, so of course it prompted me to make him a card. I don’t have as many baby stamps as I originally thought. I had plenty of images, but I was short on sentiments really. I am a big softy with babies and wanted something to reflect that.
One of my favourite stamp companies is called Clearly Besotted Stamps who are based out of the UK. Its a very small business but they have great designs and I was really pleased to see that Simon Says Stamp started selling their stamps last year. The set I used here is called Little Onesie. It’s not expensive as it is just a little set but, it has different shapes in the set that you can choose to put on the front of the onesie.
Of course paper to compliment the cuteness was from Doodlebug, but I think this one in particular is older stock as I could not find it on the website.
Oh, and it’s the Crafting & Hobby Association Craft Mega Show in Anaheim #CHA2016 this weekend! Keep an eye out for new and exciting craft goodies turning up on crafting sites across the web! I love seeing what all these clever crafters come up with. One year I would love to be able to go and mix with those film stars of the crating world.
As always, let me know what you think as I love to hear from you…..:)
Hi guys, I have been absent from the front end of my website for a while as I have been working on the back end of the site, as well has being on vacation. I have taken a few shots of my craft room which I will be adding to the craft room page on the site, but there is a sneak peek.
My craft room has been building over the last five years or so and as you can probably tell from my style on the website, I like a bit of vintage chic! I just love the black and white damask and it feels lush when I go in there to work. I am a real girlie girl too, so my website and my craft room do represent me.
Along the left side of the wall you will see my stash of stamp sets, including Stamping Up, Unity, Gina K, My Favourite Things, Mama Elephant etc. I have spent a fortune! I have tried many different quality stamps, and you can definitely tell when companies are not using good quality materials. This is why I wanted to save you guys buying products that you will not get the best results from and link you to great stamps. The photo is proof that I have tried many!
As you look around, you will see tools and gadgets from Copic markers to the fabulous ATG tape runner.
I just love my craft room and it makes me feel so excited and creative!
Well, it was a special day yesterday in the crafting calendar…it was World Card Making Day!!
I could not let it pass by without going into my craft room and making some cards to celebrate. As it happens, I have been invited to a friends 40th birthday party last evening, so it felt a great excuse to get crafting.
I have been itching to use one of my new stamp sets from Simon Says Stamp called Circle Sayings. Therefore, it was obvious which stamp set I was going to use. I also made a set of three cards because I find it really helpful to build up my card stash for those times when I have no time and I need a card in a hurry. The Circle Sayings stamp set paired fabulously with the My Favourite Things, Pierced Circle Die Set! You have no idea how happy that makes me :)))
The one thing I really appreciate is when I can vision so many different ways to use just one stamp set. The Circle Sayings set lends itself to being timeless and useful for making male or female cards, and for any occasion….fantastic!
You can check out the supplies by linking to Simon Says Stamp
I will add the latest cards to my Twitter, Facebook and Pinterest pages, so don’t forget to check them out. If you have any questions, you can send me a #tweetlinkcrafty or email me on the contact page at linkcrafty.com
Bye for now
Hi guys, welcome to my Linkcrafty blog!
My name is Cheryl and I have been working as a nurse since 1995. I graduated and worked in the UK for a number of years but in 2006, we moved to Canada. Currently, I work full time and in my spare time, I craft.
Two of my greatest accomplishments are my wonderful children who have also blessed me with three grandsons. Proudly, I can say that I have dual citizenship now between the UK and Canada and I feel privileged to have been able to achieve this in my life.
Creating has always been a passion of mine, from winning an art competition at school, always being in the school plays and choosing all creative subjects when possible like art, sewing and cookery. As my children were growing up you would often find me at my sewing machine making cushion covers and curtains. Unfortunately, I also made some interesting dresses for my eldest daughter to wear!
Paper crafts isa true joy to me and I feel at ‘home’ in my craft room. Colours, paper, glue, cutting, mediums and stamping….anything that involves creating with paper and card stock just makes me feel great. I am sure that I am not the only one who sees patterned paper and colours and gets all excited, right?
Once in my craft room, I don’t want to leave and its not unusual for me to lose all sense of time and get fed and watered through the railings by my husband, ha, ha.
There is one thing that puzzles me though, how is anyone able to create something in a tidy, orderly fashion? I find that impossible!
I love organization too and friends often comment on the way my craft room is set up. Though when I get the mojo and start to pull things out of the drawers, my craft room can look like the burglars have paid a visit!
I hope you enjoy visiting my website and having a read of my blog. Hopefully you will find it inspiring and it encourages you to dip your toe into something fun. Who knows, I may even introduce you to my adorable dogs, Molly and Sasha!
Remember………….if you think crafty, link crafty!
